Before the challenging tour of Australia, India will be looking to get back to winning ways in Tests when they take on West Indies in their own backyard.
After losing the Test series 4-1 in England, India will be keen to get back their mojo against the Caribbean outfit. The upcoming series will be West Indies’ first Test series in India after the famous tour of 2013-14. It was the very series where the legendary Sachin Tendulkar had played his last game. India will start the series as firm favourites. Virat Kohli & Co. are not only the top-ranked Test side in the world but India has also enjoyed huge success against West Indies in recent times.
India have won all the last seven Test series against West Indies while the latter last won a series against India way back in 2000.
The two teams will renew their rivalry with the Test leg of the full-fledged series. Before that Jason Holder & Co. will play a two-day practice match in Vadodara.
The first Test will be played in Rajkot from October 4. Hyderabad will be the venue for the second and the last Test, starting October 12.
After the Tests, the ODIs will get underway from October 21. Guwahati will host the series-opener before the two teams will take on each other at Indore (October 24), Pune (October 27), Mumbai (October 29) and Thiruvananthapuram (November 1).
Kolkata (November 4), Lucknow (November 6) and Chennai (November 11) will host the T20I games.
